What We Do

Delivering Holistic Education & Community Systems

We provide integrated education, infrastructure, and technology solutions to rural schools in Sierra Leone, creating sustainable ecosystems that improve learning outcomes and community wellbeing.

Library Development

We establish school libraries as centres of learning that extend beyond the classroom, providing students with access to books, reference materials, and educational resources that may otherwise be unavailable. Alongside supplying books, we introduce organised lending systems, reading programmes, and practical approaches to library management so schools can maintain and grow these resources sustainably. By improving access to reading materials and creating spaces that encourage exploration and discovery, our work strengthens literacy, supports academic achievement, empowers teachers, and helps nurture a lifelong love of learning among students and the wider community.

Technology Access

We introduce solar-powered systems and digital learning tools to help overcome the challenges of limited infrastructure and unreliable access to electricity in rural schools. By providing sustainable energy solutions, we enable schools to power essential equipment, improve learning environments, and create opportunities for students and teachers to engage with modern educational resources. Through access to digital tools, technology training, and innovative learning approaches, we help bridge the digital divide and ensure that students in rural communities are not left behind. Our approach focuses on building sustainable technology ecosystems that strengthen education, support teachers, and empower communities with the skills and resources needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Toilet

We develop and install clean water systems and sanitation facilities that create safer, healthier, and more supportive learning environments for students, teachers, and surrounding communities. Access to reliable water and proper sanitation is essential for improving attendance, protecting student wellbeing, and reducing the spread of preventable illnesses. Through the construction of sustainable WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities, we help schools establish better hygiene practices, provide dignified sanitation solutions, and strengthen community awareness around health and environmental responsibility. Our work supports long-term improvements in education by ensuring that students can learn in environments that are safe, clean, and conducive to their development.

Vocational Training

We deliver sewing and vocational skills training programmes that provide students and adults with practical, hands-on learning opportunities that support personal development and economic empowerment. By teaching valuable skills such as sewing, tailoring, and small-scale enterprise development, we help individuals build confidence, improve employability, and create pathways towards sustainable income generation. These programmes complement traditional education by equipping learners with practical abilities that can be applied within their communities, helping to reduce economic barriers and encourage self-reliance. Through access to tools, training, and mentorship, we support the growth of local skills, strengthen community livelihoods, and create opportunities for individuals and families to build a more secure future.

School Farming

We support community-led farming initiatives that strengthen local food systems and provide sustainable solutions for school nutrition programmes. By working with schools, families, and community members, we help establish productive gardens and agricultural projects that supply fresh, nutritious food for students while building valuable farming knowledge and skills. These initiatives improve access to healthy meals, encourage regular school attendance, and support student wellbeing by reducing barriers caused by food insecurity. Beyond providing immediate benefits, our approach promotes environmental responsibility, empowers communities to take ownership of their food production, and creates sustainable models that can continue to support schools and families for years to come.

Sporting Activities

We provide sports equipment, playground facilities, and recreational learning resources that encourage active participation, physical development, and positive engagement among students. By creating safe and inclusive spaces for play, exercise, and teamwork, we support the overall wellbeing of children while helping schools build stronger connections with their students and communities. Our programmes recognise that education extends beyond the classroom, with physical activity playing an important role in developing confidence, leadership, cooperation, and social skills. Through improved access to sports and extracurricular opportunities, we help increase student motivation, strengthen school attendance, and create more engaging learning environments where children can thrive.

Extracurricular Activities

We support extracurricular activities such as student clubs, creative arts programmes, and student-led initiatives that provide opportunities for learners to develop skills beyond the traditional classroom. These activities encourage creativity, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving while allowing students to explore their interests and talents. By creating spaces where young people can collaborate, express themselves, and take ownership of projects, we help strengthen student engagement and build a sense of responsibility within the school community. Our programmes promote holistic development by nurturing the social, emotional, and practical skills students need to become active contributors and future leaders within their communities.

School Agriculture

We develop school garden initiatives that combine practical education, environmental awareness, and improved nutrition for students and communities. Through hands-on gardening activities, students learn about sustainable agriculture, food production, and the importance of caring for their environment while gaining valuable life skills. The produce grown through these initiatives can support school feeding programmes, helping provide healthier meals and improving student wellbeing. By involving teachers, students, families, and community members, our school gardens become sustainable learning spaces that strengthen food security, encourage self-reliance, and inspire the next generation to become responsible stewards of their communities and natural resources.
